The Story so Far
Where it Started
Chris spent most of his time at the sailing club from a young age, racing dinghies and catamarans on the East coast of England.
He had many dinghy successes but was soon drawn to racing catamarans and skiffs by the skill required to sail them and the exhilarating speeds the can reach.
Starting off with a Dart16, within 2 years he was national TT champion. He built on this success by racing Hurricane, F18 Tornado and Dart18 classes in world championship and opens.
Chris raced locally on 49ers, Musto skiffs and many other high performance monohulls giving him a very broad and varied sailboats skill set.

Building Success
In the summer of 2012 Chris became the first person to sail unaided and singlehanded around the UK, including the North of Scotland, in a beach catamaran or dinghy.
This challenge combined his love of yachting and dinghy sailing and raised money for the NSPCC.
He remains the only person to ever have completed this challenge.

Winning the Race
In 2019 Chris was was selected from over 300 applicants to lead a team in the Clipper Round the World Race.
He was assigned as skipper to Qingdao, a team of 63 people, with mixed sailing ability and motivation. This campaign was interrupted in 2020, but upon recommencing, Chris was able to combine his expertise in seamanship, race tactics and people management to gain 8 podium results, including 5 1st places, ultimately winning the overall
19/20 Clipper Round the World Race.
