Well what a top stop Derry~Londonderry has been. A great welcome by the people of Derry~Londonderry, or LegenDerry for those not wishing to offend.
As we left the shores of the island of Ireland, as it was known, we have faced a little of everything. Some lovely sunshine, some pouring rain and a localised thunderstorm which slipped by us taking all our wind with it. We eventually found the new pressure and we were soon flying along at a 45 degree angle towards our first virtual mark. As we left that to starboard the wind built to over 35 kts, calling for a tough sail change which both watches stepped up to in the night. More tough upwind sailing conditions for the next 12 hours is undoubtedly going to cause some sea sickness!
